Terms of Service

The short version. Lendumine connects neighbours who want to lend and borrow equipment. We run the platform and handle payments; the rental itself is an agreement between the two people involved. Be honest about what you list, look after what you borrow, and treat people decently.

1. Who can use Lendumine

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. One account per person. You are responsible for everything done through your account, so keep your login details to yourself.

2. What Lendumine is — and is not

We are a marketplace. We do not own, inspect, store, insure, or deliver any of the items listed. We are not a party to the rental agreement between a lender and a borrower, and we make no warranty about any item's condition, safety, legality, or suitability. Ratings and profiles are provided by members, not verified by us.

3. Listing an item

• List only items you own and are legally allowed to rent out.
• Describe the item and its condition honestly, with real photos of the actual item.
• Set a price and availability you intend to honour.
• Do not list anything on our prohibited list — see the Community Guidelines.

You keep ownership of your content. By posting it you give us a licence to display, store, and distribute it inside the Service so it can work. That licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies retained in backups or as required by law.

4. Borrowing an item

• Return the item on time, in the condition you received it.
• Use it as intended, and follow any safety instructions the lender gives.
• Tell the lender straight away if something is damaged or lost.
• You are responsible for loss or damage while the item is in your care.

5. Payments, deposits, and fees

Payments are processed by Stripe. When a lender accepts a request, the rental total and any security deposit are charged to the borrower's card or wallet balance and held until the rental completes.

• Platform fee — Lendumine charges a service fee on the rental subtotal. The fee is shown before you confirm.
• Security deposits — refundable holds chosen by the lender, returned automatically when the rental closes without a claim.
• Free rentals — $0 rentals are fully supported and involve no charge.
• Payouts — made to lenders through Stripe, to a connected bank account.

Cancellation, refunds, and disputes are handled case by case. Contact us within 7 days of a rental ending if something went wrong, and we will review the rental record and any evidence both parties provide. Our decision on releasing or withholding a deposit is final as between you and us; it does not stop you pursuing the other person directly.

6. Physical goods, not digital content

Everything transacted on Lendumine is a real, physical item handed over in person. Payments are therefore processed outside Apple's in-app purchase system, as Apple's guidelines permit for physical goods and services.

7. Conduct

You agree not to harass, threaten, deceive, or discriminate against other members; not to post illegal, hateful, or sexually explicit content; not to circumvent fees or blocks; not to scrape or reverse-engineer the Service; and not to interfere with its operation. The Community Guidelines form part of these terms.

8. Reporting and enforcement

Any listing, message, or profile can be reported from inside the app. We review reports within 24 hours and may remove content, restrict features, or terminate accounts that break these terms. Serious violations result in immediate and permanent removal.

9. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms or puts other members at risk. Outstanding rental obligations survive termination.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. We are not liable for the acts or omissions of other members, for injury, loss, or damage arising from an item rented through the Service, or for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of $100 or the platform fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Indemnity

You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a claim is brought against us because of your content, your use of the Service, or a rental you took part in.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring the claim locally.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect, and continuing to use Lendumine after that means you accept them.
